Dr. Gene Scott was a man who spent 75 years on this earth, most of that time spent teaching God's Word and building up that part of the Kingdom of God over which he was made an undershepherd. He faithfully led a congregation that was both local to Los Angeles and, at the same time, scattered to the farthest reaches of the globe. He communicated the truth of the gospel in a very straightforward way, never giving place even for a moment to the influences in Christianity that would bring men back under bondage to the law of Moses, or to those that would lead them astray into another gospel, far from the cross of Jesus. I'll write more on Dr. Scott eventually, but I feel the need to address at least some of the misrepresentations about him and his faithful wife, Pastor Melissa Scott, that have been propagated in particular by one loudmouthed and ignorant former parishioner. His name is Addison B. Bachman, hereafter dubbed Addyhole, and he loves to talk about himself ad nauseam, thoroughly proving the adage that it is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt. As I said, I'll write more here about Dr. Gene Scott, but if you want to really know about the man there's no better place to go than the link I've provided below with the button "Want to Really Understand the Bible?" This is Pastor Melissa Scott's website, and you can listen to both her and Dr. Scott teaching there. After all, what better way to know a person than to listen to them speak? Isn't that how we come to know the divine person as well, by listening to Him speak to us through His word? You'll never find better communicators of that than Pastor Melissa Scott and Dr. Gene Scott. However, if you have a strong stomach and a fascination with train wrecks, visit some of the other pages of this blog to learn a bit more about addyholes.
